Town Administrator’s Report provides weekly insight to Town Hall

Bob White is a man around town; he has been a fixture on the Finance Committee for three years and can be found fueling boats at the Stonebridge Marina in Onset during the summer months. Bob has also been producing and directing Town Administrator's Report, an approximately 20 minute weekly series broadcast on Wareham Community Television.

For over 20 weeks, White has been working with Mark Andrews, the Wareham Town Administrator, creating an informative program of current issues of interest to the community. Since this was the first project of this nature for either Andrews or White, they worked together on developing program format, presentation style, and personal delivery. Although the content is determined by Mr. Andrews, they pause to discuss the content of each week’s program before "rolling" the camera in the administrator's office at Town Hall. Some examples of topics discussed recently include Safe Summer 2011, the budget process in preparation for Fiscal Year 2012, and numerous personnel appointments.

Occasionally, other community members or department managers join Mr. Andrews to discuss departmental or program issues. Several new personalities on the staff have been introduced and welcomed to the community as well.

At the close of each weekly segment, the public is invited to provide feedback to the Town Administrator regarding the content and format of the program. "This is supposed to be another communication channel open to the Administrator and the Wareham community; the essence of Public Access Television."

After joining Wareham Community Television and becoming certified to use the production equipment a year ago, Bob has been one of the more proficient TV producers in town. In addition to Town Administrator’s Report, he has worked on the recently introduced "Postcards from Onset." Other projects such as, "An Interpretative Walk at Sagamore Hill Military Reservation," in cooperation with Corps of Engineers, Cape Cod Canal, "Adapt a Veteran–Video-taped interviews with local veterans," and "I Wonder Where the Yellow Went?-A story of Wareham's sewer system" are in various stages of production.

WCTV is currently seeking residents who would like to get involved with WCTV producing television content, taking free production classes and volunteering on shows.
