Summer sizzles at WCTV(June 11, 2010, Wareham) - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- (Wareham, MA) Wareham Community Television (WCTV) has geared up for a sizzling summer of live programs to be produced in the studio and Live from across the Town. "The recent Live broadcast of the Auction & Entertainment weekend in May was pretty much a practice run for what we’re about to produce this summer" commented Jay Heard, WCTV Executive Director. "We plan to shoot and air every home game played by the Gatemen this year. We’ll be taking commentary and color from the Gatemen organization and they’ll take our video feed; our Live program will broadcast on Comcast Channel 97 and Verizon Channel 28, our Education Channels, as well as streamed through our web site (www.warehamtv.org)." Each week WCTV volunteers will operate the four cameras and studio control with a complement of state of the art equipment. Steve Ruiz is the WCTV Technical Director: "Recently WCTV purchased four wireless headsets that will complement the existing intercom package and we recently received a grant from the Gatemen Organization that allows us to send a live wireless signal from anywhere originating from a laptop", said Ruiz. "So, we plan to provide the residents of Wareham and fans of the Gatemen, anywhere in the world, with live coverage of every home game!" In addition to baseball WCTV will be broadcasting the "Summer of Love" concerts Live from Onset on the WCTV Public Channels (Comcast Channel 9 and Verizon Channel 30) and the WCTV Live Stream . Steve Ruiz, who will be producing the series said "The Summer of Love Concerts have a part Onset in the past but this is the first time the community will have the option of seeing them live at the Band Shell or on their TV at home. We’ve been holding multi-camera classes at WCTV and have trained a crew of volunteers who will be manning cameras and directing the shows", he continued. "Another new program from the studio is "Live with Mantis", a re-vamped music series originating from our studio" said Christian Fernandes, Production Co-ordinator at WCTV. "Every Wednesday night will bring a new band to the viewers of WCTV, many who are well know in the rock and roll circuits around Boston, Worcester and Providence. It’ll be another great night of Live entertainment for Wareham, by Wareham residents, right here on Wareham Community Television". WCTV continues to add programming to its channels, and it seems there’s something for everyone. "In addition to Your Daily Gumbo TV, Living Healthy with Jackie Bell, and Area Code 508, with Nicole Gabai we have shows like At The Hub, The Fox Robbins Business Show and Naturally Healthy" said Jay Heard. "Our goal is to provide residents of Wareham with great programs produced by their neighbors and friends. We are off to a fantastic start and are breaking new ground everyday", Heard continued. WCTV is currently seeking residents who’d like to get involved with WCTV producing television content, taking free production classes and volunteering on shows.
